Requirements of Board Members

The Technology Alliance Group for Kawartha Lakes (TAG) needs open minded, community-oriented individuals who have a vision of technology’s vital role in making this the best place to live, work and play. As a TAG board member you will participate in developing and implementing a comprehensive technology plan for our community that will benefit individuals and businesses through advancement of technology.

TAG’s objectives are:

  • To enable local businesses and residents to use current communication technologies;
  • To increase public awareness concerning the availability of technology and its uses;
  • To encourage involvement of key community partners in development of technology infrastructure planning through inclusive membership; and
  • To provide a method for citizens of the community to access vital local information.
  • In being considered as an applicant for the Board of Directors of the Technology Alliance Group for Kawartha Lakes (TAG), the individual should:
  • Have a general understanding of the community and the economic climate of the City of Kawartha Lakes
  • Enhance and support the objective of a strong geographic/regional representation throughout the City by the Board
  • Have an interest in increasing public awareness concerning the availability of technology and its uses
  • Be interested in enabling local businesses and residents to use current communication technologies
  • Interested in providing a method for citizens of the community to access vital local information
  • Be able to commit up to a minimum of 5 hours per month to volunteer to the organization; said participation could include attendance at Board and Committee meetings, as appropriate and functions of the organization
  • Be 18 or more years of age
  • The majority of board members must be citizens of good standing within the community of the City of Kawartha Lakes.
